Paisley Paws
Paisley Paws is an animal assistance effort set up by Riverside Veterinary Hospital to help abandoned pets. When it was started staff paused a moment to try to come up with a list of abandoned animals that have been left at our hospital. Within thirty minutes we had collectively named over eighty animals. Each of these pets had their own little stories about how they came to live with us. Almost all of them have great success stories about how they met their new families. Some of them are still residents at Riverside looking for loving homes.
Paisley Paws was organized to help us raise funds for pets needing help. Riverside donates a large percentage of the cost of treating these pets and Paisley Paws helps to supplement the difference. We want to be able to provide these animals with the medical care that they need including vaccines, testing, preventatives, and medical/surgical care. We want to be able to pin a fractured leg in a dog that is hit by a car and then discarded by the owner. Our main goal will be to do what is necessary to place these abandoned animals in loving homes of their own.
Fund raisers like Dog Olympics and Pictures with Santa provide funding for Paisley Paws along with donations. Through the American Veterinary Medical Foundation’s (AVMF) Veterinary Care Charitable Fund, our hospital is able to help animals rescued from abuse and neglect and the pets of clients facing personal hardships. Your donations to AVMF on behalf of our hospital will help us help animals.
