Dr. Joey Galligan grew up in San Francisco’s Bay Area as the youngest of 5. She played Lacrosse while earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Biology with a minor in Social Sciences at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ, graduating in 2013. Dr. Joey has always been interested in medicine, but grew increasingly more intrigued by the human-animal bond and the challenge that diagnosing and treating animals presents. In 2018, she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. She is Fear Free Certified and has a special interest in animal behavior. Dr. Joey is a Mom of 2 beautiful kids, Charlotte and Liam, who keep her very busy. She is also a fur-mom to dog, Oakley, and 2 crazy cats, Flit and Curby. She enjoys spending time with her family and rock climbing in her spare time. Dr. Joey joined the Riverside team in December of 2020 and most recently launched our Urgent Care in March of 2025.
